Money Void is a personal expense tracker for iPhone, made by Eles Ismailov. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Your account: email address, name, and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and the email address they share with us.
- Your financial records: the accounts, categories, transactions, notes and reminders you enter. They are stored on our server so they sync between your devices.
- Assistant chats: the messages you send to the in-app assistant and its replies.
- Import files: if you ask us to move your history over from another app, the file you send is stored encrypted and deleted once the import is finished, or after 14 days.
- Support messages: what you send us through the support form or by email, with your email address.
- Crash and error reports: when the app crashes or hits an error, a report goes to Sentry with technical details: device model, iOS and app version, IP address and your account identifier.
- Security notices: when something important changes on your account (password, email, sign-in), we email you the time, device and IP address it came from.
We don't show ads, don't track you across other apps or websites, and don't sell your data.
How we use it
Only to run Money Void: syncing, the assistant, imports, support, account emails, and finding and fixing bugs.
How we use AI
Some features use AI models from OpenAI, through its API. Only what a feature needs is sent, and only when you use that feature:
- The assistant: your message, the earlier messages of that chat, and the parts of your records it needs to answer (for example, last month's spending by category).
- Imports: to understand a file from another app, the AI sees its column names, the values of short columns (such as category or account names), a few sample rows, and the names of your accounts and categories, so imported rows can go into the ones you already have. Rows the file leaves unclear (such as a transfer without a destination) may also be sent, one by one, for a suggestion. A person checks the result, and you see a summary and confirm before anything is added.
OpenAI doesn't use API data to train its models and keeps it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. AI answers can be wrong: the assistant's replies are suggestions, not financial advice. We don't use AI to make decisions about you, and we don't use your data to train any model.
Who processes it for us
- OpenAI (USA): the assistant and preparing imports, as described above.
- Sentry: crash and error reports (stored in the EU).
- Resend: sends our emails (verification codes, security notices).
- Hetzner: hosts our server and database.
- Apple and Google, only if you choose to sign in with them.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your records are kept for as long as you have an account. You can export them as a CSV file at any time (Settings → Export CSV), and delete your account together with all of its data from Settings in the app. Deleted data is removed from our server right away and disappears from our backups within 17 days.
Security
Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored as hashes, and import files are encrypted on our server.
Children
Money Void isn't intended for children under 13.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date above.
